Chris Dumont is Head of Brand Design at Mossburn Distillers, responsible for NPD, design and implementation. As well as leading the design of Mossburn’s Scotch Whisky brand portfolio, he was also responsible for the brand launch of Torabhaig, the second Single Malt Scotch Whisky distillery on the Isle of Skye, encompassing design and development for the visitor centre and brand experience, including retail and hospitality interiors at the distillery.

In his role as Acting Creative Director for Mossburn’s sister distillery and sake brewery in Hyogo, Chris led the creation of their spirits brand portfolio as well as the rebrand for Akashi-Tai, the company’s flagship sake, working closely with the team in Japan and coordinating specialist creative talent in the UK, France and Japan. Chris has also worked agency side for almost two decades in the design & innovation industry as a brand consultant and designer.

With more than 25 years experience both agency and client-side, Chris has a rare perspective on the role and power of effective design, especially in spirits. He is a passionate advocate for the importance of design and design investment in building brands, and ultimately in building value for the brand owner. Chris has been a regular judge for the ISC Design & Packaging awards since 2014.
