The ISC Tasting Awards represent the pinnacle of achievement in the global spirits industry, earned through one of the most meticulous and respected judging processes in the world.
Held over 23 days of intensive blind tasting, the competition brings together a panel of more than 75 expert judges, including some of the most experienced and influential figures in the trade. Every spirit submitted to the challenge is assessed with absolute impartiality, integrity, and precision.
To preserve the integrity of the blind tasting, all samples are poured into numbered glasses and delivered to judges in curated flights. Products are evaluated by category, taking into account age, region, and style - as submitted by the entrant and verified by the Category Chairs.
Each spirit is scored on key criteria: Appearance, Aroma, Taste, and Finish. Judges work independently, with scores collected and reviewed by the Chairs to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Based on these results, products are awarded medals at the following levels: Trophy, Double Gold, Gold, Silver, and Bronze, with Trophy winners representing the highest standard of excellence within their category.
Throughout the process, the ISC is committed to creating a fair and consistent judging environment. Every sample is assessed under controlled conditions, and are overseen by the Chairs, who ensure authenticity and consistency across the board.
It is this rigorous and transparent process that underpins the ISC’s global reputation for rewarding quality and celebrating excellence.
